Girl’s Night In
It seems today that everyone is so much busier than in university. Jobs, work, and family, it all seems to add up so quickly. So I thought it was necessary to step up to the plate and create an evening where some of the best women I know could stop by for a glass of wine and some tasty treats. I made my infamous mac and cheese, that I promise to feature on here soon, bocconcini salad, meatballs, cheese and crackers and lots of veg. The best part of the evening was being voted in to host every month, like there was any other option.
Camo and Polka Dots
J. Crew Sweater, Pink Tartan Skirt (different print), Christian Louboutin Pumps, Valentino Handbag, Tiffany Earrings, Michael Kors Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, Chan Luu Bracelet (similar style)
The weather in Calgary has been unbelievable this week and I’ve been enjoying being able to extend the bare legged season. I love this type of weather, where it’s not quite cool enough to wear tights, but crisp enough to pair a thin sweater with your skirt. This is the time in Calgary where I frantically try and wear my suede shoes as much as possible before the moisture hits the city. And I’m just going to have to do it one cute outfit at a time.
Super Banana Bread Mini Loaves
Banana bread is one of those baked goods that I’ve never really given a fair chance. Perhaps its because I always associate it with being overly healthy, and therefore not as tasty as other treats. I found this recipe in the book Home Baked Comfort and have to say, all of those previous banana bread stereotypes were proven wrong. Just as the recipe promised I couldn’t stop at just one loaf piece. Since I love sharing my baking, and never eat it all myself, I used my mini loaf pan and was able to share this deliciousness with family and friends.
Jeweled Up Jersey
Bella Artistry Jersey, Rag & Bone Jeans, Tory Burch Flats, Tom Ford Handbag (different color), Hermes Watch
I ventured out to the west coast this past weekend to cheer on the Seattle Seahawks in their home opener. The boys played fabulous and secured a win that left all of us Hawks fans ecstatic. I love attending sporting events, the determination of the athletes, the air of excitement from the fans, and of course the stadium food. I get so pumped up until I have to decide what to wear. Thankfully this has been forever solved thanks to the talent and sparkle of Bella Artistry. Never has it been so fun or smelt so good to throw on a jersey.
Edging into Fall
Tibi Dress, Muubaa Leather Jacket, Prada Sandals (similar style here), Chanel Handbag, Hermes Watch, Alden Rae Bracelet
There’s something that seems to happen to my wardrobe as the season drifts further away from summer and into fall. I go from feminine ruffles, florals and lace to a much more edgy entourage. Motorcycle boots, leather and studs beckon me, and I can’t resist. Since it’s still technically summer and the weather in Calgary has been gorgeous, a dress was completely appropriate. It not only offset all that edge, but felt a little rebellious doing so.
