Halloween is over and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been making deals with yourself daily on the amount of leftover candy you can consume in one sitting. Luckily for all of us, I’ve had this recipe for Peanut Butter Cup Cookies for a while now, and it’s particularly handy in getting rid of those leftover Peanut Butter Cups, once and for all. I experimented with substituting Crispy Crunch bars in place of the Peanut Butter Cups, and they were equally delicious. So there you have it my friends, more room in your cupboards and tummies to fill with goods other than candy.

On days when the weather is dipping well below zero (Celsius that is), our city is lit up by that big, brilliant blue sky. Inevitably it warms everything up throughout the day, and one can venture out without fear of frostbite. Winter days like these are my favorite, and they’re what I missed while living on the west coast. I thought I would match the sky and don my own color of blue, although it really wasn’t a fair competition, mother nature wins every time.

It’s pretty much guaranteed that if a party dress happens to cross my path, at any given moment in time, I fall. If I could don such an outfit everyday of my little life, I absolutely would. Practicality, however, calls for ensembles that will allow me to live my life day to day, a little less glamorously. Every now and again though, I put on something special, for no special reason, and I’m always left wondering why I don’t do it more often.

One of the many few perks of living in a city where the weather dips dramatically is that a coat is a necessity. So in a season filled with an abundance of gorgeous outerwear, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. In an effort to stay both warm and fashionable, I knew instantly that this shearling coat would get the job done. So while California girls have the weather, we get the opportunity to showcase the coat craze currently taking place. I would say, we win.

Our too-good-to-be-true weather finally clued in that it had missed it’s flight south, and so this past weekend we were graced with a little bit of snow. My relationship with the winter season would definitely be considered complicated, all matters considered. I have an aversion to the cold temperatures, and yet my intense pleasure in donning my winter wardrobe gets me excited for this time of year to arrive. No matter how cold it gets, how upset can one really be when wearing merlot fur and killer boots?
