Jumpsuit Joy
Vince Jumpsuit (also here), Charlotte Olympia Sandals, Chanel Handbag, Lisbeth Necklace, Michael Kors Watch, Stella + Dot Bracelet, Tiffany Earrings
Have you ever noticed that there’s certain articles of clothing reserved for children, that if and when given an adult upgrade would be in regular rotation in your closet? I often see little ones running around in the cutest rompers, thinking, ‘why doesn’t that come in my size?’. So you can only imagine my delight in the fact that adult friendly jumpsuits are everywhere this spring. I picked this one up while in Los Angeles a few weeks back, and finally had a chance to pull it out the other day. I can’t even explain my delight in wearing it, and because of it’s neutral colour, there’s so many different ways of dressing it up, or down.
Pretty Purple Pumps
Rebecca Taylor Blouse (similar here), Rag & Bone Denim, Manolo Blahnik Pumps (slightly different color), Chanel Handbag, Hermes Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, Stella + Dot Bracelet, Tiffany Necklaces
As clichéd as it may sound, every time spring rolls around I fall in some serious love with the pretty pastels. It’s literally a physical reaction to the prettiness that exudes from the pieces, and these pastel purple pumps were no exception. I love that I can match them to the florals in my closet, but can also make them pop when paired with an all white or black ensemble. I guarantee that you’ll be seeing more pastels here on the blog as the weather starts warming up. I’m sorry, it can’t be helped.
Floral Edge
Club Monaco Dress, IRO Leather Jacket, Valentino Flats, Loeffler Randall Handbag (different color here), La Vie Parisienne Earrings, Hermes Watch, Stella + Dot Bracelet, David Yurman Bracelet
I love holiday weekends. I love the tradition that encompasses them, the extra time spent with family, and the chance to catch up on important things such as sleep. It worked out well that the weather cooperated for part of the weekend, a side of sunshine with brunch is so much more enjoyable. Easter always feels like the official kickstart to spring and I’m officially in a spring-like mindset.
Dressed Up Denim
BCBG Tee, Rag & Bone Denim, Alice + Olivia Jacket (similar here), Saint Laurent Pumps, Loeffler Randall Handbag (different color here), Hermes Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, Stella + Dot Bracelet, Tiffany Necklace
Sometimes anything more complicated than jeans and a tee is too daunting to take on in the morning. Thankfully there are ways to dress up your denim, without having to put too much thought into it. Throw on a fabulous little jacket or blazer, a killer pair of heels and an armload of bracelets and out the door you go. I can’t tell you how often I revert to this little uniform of sorts, and how often it’s saved me as I’m running behind and out of options. So the next time you are about to utter the words ‘I have nothing to wear’, pick those jeans and tees up off the floor and jazz them up a little bit.
The Homemade You-Know-What
There’s certain treats from childhood that leave a mark, Oreo cookies definitely fall into that category. When I was young I remember breaking the cookies apart to eat the icing alone, usually stashing the cookie bit where I thought no one would find it. As my palette developed and I got older, that changed, and I still get a little bit nostalgic when offered an Oreo. This recipe for Homemade You-Know-Whats from the Butter Baked Goods cookbook takes it to an entirely new level. Delicious chocolate cookies sandwiched between homemade icing, each cookie sandwich is large enough to share, and you’ll have to break it in two in order to dunk it in a cold glass of milk. I don’t know whether you’ll be thanking me or cursing me, having this deliciousness at your fingertips.
