Centre Street Style is teaming up with LE CHÂTEAU on Saturday, July 19th from 1-4pm at LE CHÂTEAU’s location in The Core, in downtown Calgary, AB. Come by and view the latest collection, get inspired for summer and say hello. I’ll be there from 1-4pm to give my expertise and personal style advice to all of those who stop in. I love baking when the summer rolls around and I have full access to all of the delicious produce that isn’t available the other months of the year. During the dead of winter I often look longingly at the recipes filled with delicious baked goods that incorporate fruits that just aren’t seen this far north at that time. Strawberries are in full flourish right now, and I picked up a massive helping (warning – there will be additional strawberry themed recipes in the near future). This recipe for Strawberries and Cream Cheesecake had caught my eye in the fall, and I’ve patiently waited to undertake the task. Creamy strawberry deliciousness was almost too much to handle, and I will definitely be making this one again while the strawberries are at their sweetest.

This weekend is shaping up quite nicely. The weather has hit above-average seasonal temperatures, the infamous Calgary Stampede officially starts today, and I’m hosting a breakfast for some of my nearest and dearest. I love weekends that offer a little bit of everything, such as friends and family, entertainment, outdoor adventures, and a little bit of downtime sprinkled in there. Whatever you’re up to this summer weekend, let’s all try to get out and make the most of it, shall we.
I can’t believe it’s been two years since I started Centre Street Style. It’s such an interesting measurement of time, another reminder that life is speeding up, getting busier, and teaching me something new everyday. I love my blog and my little space in the internet. I love dreaming up posts, sharing recipes, and styling outfits. I love that I have an outlet for my creative mind and my passion of fashion. This year has been full of ups and downs. Lessons have been learned, hearts have been broken and actions have been taken towards achieving long awaited dreams.
This blog would never have become a reality without the unrelenting support and tremendous talent of my dear older brother, who despite weather conditions, technical difficulties, and wardrobe malfunctions has been alongside me every step of the way. And when he had to take paternity leave, I was fortunate to have my very dear other half step in to keep it going. So thank you. Thank you to all of those of you who take the time to stop by for a little read, to view the images, and to inspire me to keep going. Here’s to another year of fabulous fashion, delicious recipes, and endless entertaining.

Most summer seasons come and go with little fanfare from me in regards to shorts. I’ve always struggled with the fit of shorts due to my muscular legs, which designers kept forgetting to leave room for. This year, however, has an abundance of shorts options for literally everyone. Not only are there incredible fabrics, styles and colours available, but designers have upped the anti by creating matching jackets for a chic little shorts suit ensemble. Oh the options you have with matching separates. Can you say love at first sight?
