When fall starts showing signs of winter and Thanksgiving turns into Halloween, I start craving rich, complex flavors.  Cinnamon, gingerbread and nutmeg are all high on my list of what baked goods are required to have.  So when I came across this recipe for Gingerbread Cupcakes with Candied Ginger, and saw the extensive grocery list of ingredients, I was intrigued enough to try it out.  Don’t let the long list deter you away, it was well worth the effort in tracking down everything involved.  Delicious, rich, complex and oh-so-fall, I will definitely be making these little cakes again.
