I love the satisfaction that comes from trying a new recipe, and discovering it’s absolute deliciousness. This is especially true for me when it comes to baking cakes. I came across a recipe for Champagne Cake in the Vintage Cakes cookbook, and decided it was a must try. With champagne included in both the batter was well as the custard, it’s the perfect dessert for the adult-set. While it may seem complicated due to the numerous steps involved, don’t let it keep you from attempting this delightful dessert, none of the steps are too advance. Unless you’ve finished that bottle of champagne that was supposed to go into the cake. But that’s another story.
