Have you ever noticed that when the time comes to be in charge of dessert, you tend to search for something that will blow the crowd away, and forget about the classics?  I find myself doing this more often than not these days.  I seem to take it upon myself to personally prove to my guests that Martha (as in Stewart) has nothing on me.  I choose a complicated dessert that looks like a gold medal winner, but ends up tasting more tenth runner up.  The other day I remembered my old friend, the brownie, as I came across this recipe from The Flour Bakery.  Half cake deliciousness and half fudgey goodness, it may not be a triple layer frothy confection, but it’s guaranteed to leave my guests wanting more.
